Products Description

Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) Manufacturer & Supplier of Cellulose Gum

Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC), known as Cellulose gum, is a high-polymer cellulose ether obtained by chemically modifying natural cellulose.CMC is white or milky white fibrous powder or granules, with a density of 0.5-0.7 g/cm3, almost odorless, tasteless, and hygroscopic. CMC-Na is white fibrous or granular powder, odorless, tasteless, hygroscopic.

CMC is Easily dispersed in water to form a transparent colloidal solution, insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. Carboxymethyl cellulose is obtained after carboxymethylation of cellulose, and its aqueous solution has the functions of thickening, film formation, adhesion, water retention, colloid protection, emulsification and suspension, and CMC can be used in paints&coatings, food additives, papermaking Additives, flocculants, filter aids, mud conditioners, mud overflow preventionAgents, abrasives, additives for adhesives, etc.

Application Range

1.Food Ingredient

CMC is widely used in the food industry because of its thickening and emulsification stabilization, water retention, gelation, good film-forming properties, odorless, tasteless and physiological inertness, such as thickeners, emulsion stabilization agent, adhesive stabilizer and moisture adhesive, etc. In emulsified foods or thickened juices, CMC is often used as a highly viscous material, which can improve the electrostatic repulsion of casein particles and reduce the degree of milk precipitation or phase separation. On the premise of ensuring the original taste and flavor of milk-containing beverages, the application of CMC cooling material technology enhances the stability of acid-modified milk-containing beverages and reduces production energy consumption. CMC can also be used for food preservation.

2.Pharmaceutical field

Due to their excellent biocompatibility, high stability, pH sensitivity and adsorption to enzymes, CMC hydrogels, films or other hybrid materials have been widely studied in pharmaceutical applications, especially in drug delivery, Drug emulsification and stabilization. The controlled release of drugs can be achieved by utilizing the molecular interactions and hydrophilicity of CMCs, and drug delivery can also be achieved in different controlled ways by fine-tuning the chemical structure of CMCs. With the research and development in the field of oral drug delivery, many innovative applications can be realized by exploiting the unique properties of CMCs.

3.Textile field

CMC and its derivatives are used in digital textile printing due to their thickening and color sharpening properties, as sizing and finishing agents in textile weaving; It is used in the preparation of intelligent, antibacterial, anti-free radical, anti-oxidative textiles, etc.

4.Biomedical field

CMC and its composites are widely used in tissue engineering, bone-

Textile engineering, wound dressings, absorbent nonwovens, manufacture of 3D scaffolds for biocompatible implants, etc.

5.Papermaking

CMC can improve the mechanical properties, printability, ink retention, color stability, etc. of paper, improve the rheology and stability of paper coatings, and can also load specific substances by adding wet end, surface sizing or coating. Gives paper functionality.

6 .Water treatment field

CMC is widely used as an adsorbent, and the polar carboxyl group makes it soluble in water and has strong chemical reactivity and chelating ability. CMC-based hybrid composites, especially hydrogels, have broad application prospects in the removal of dye pollutants, various inorganic metal ions, and various radionuclides in polluted water.

7.Other field

CMC has corresponding applications in the petroleum industry, building materials, dental materials, daily chemical products, agriculture, resin fillers, auxiliary materials for battery electrodes, strain sensors and other fields. CMC has been applied to all aspects of life and has become an indispensable cellulose derivative material.
