1.Application in textile Industry

With high degree substitution, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) can be used as the thickener in various textile printing color paste, and it has the excellent anti-acid and anti-salt. The viscosity is stable after making up the thickener and printing color paste, and it can fully replace the high quality alginate. The advantages of product are listed as follows:

8.Application In the paper-manufacturing industry

In the paper-manufacturing industry,CMC displays many excellent performance in paper-making technology. it is higher valued by the majority of paper engineers and is widely used in the production of paper and paperboard, such as paper and paperboard coating process, coating rheology modifier, water – retention agent, film-forming agent, auxiliary adhesives, wet end retention enhancers and surface sizing agents, grinding aids, filler modifier and the flocculating agent which used in waste water treatment etc.

9. Application in fabric finishing
Paint the CMC aqueous solution on fabric, and then after the acetic acid treatment, it can be produced a special fabric with airtight and water proof. Treat the fabric with CMC aqueous solution first and treat with the easy decomposition of quaternary ammonium salt, then after drying, burnishing and heating at the appropriate phrase, and it can form a waxy fabric which is insoluble in coating.

10.Application in mining industry
Sodium Carboxy methyl cellulose is used in mining industry as pellet binder and flotation inhibitor. CMC is a component of the binder for mineral dust shaping and meanwhile the binder is an indispensable ingredient for pellet production. It can improve the properties of wet pellet, dry pellet and calcinated pellet. Due to its good binding property and pellet forming property, the green pellet with CMC has excellent antiknock performance, high compressive strength and dropping resistance. It can also increase the grade of pellet. CMC is an adjusting agent in floating selection process, it is used as the silicate gangue inhibitor, controlling the lead in the separation process of copper and lead, sometimes it is used as dispersant for mineral mud.

11.Application in Toothpaste industry

Toothpaste is a dispersed system composed of abrasives, moisturizers, former, essence and water etc. CMC is one of the most important raw materials in toothpaste and plays the role of mixing evenly the fluid and solid material, making the toothpaste molding, flowing, moderate thickness, brightness and smoothness. Furthermore, it helps the powders and liquids emulsify evenly to become the stable soliquoid, and plays the extremely important role in stability and diffusivity.
CMC is mainly used as thickener in toothpaste to prevent its solids from liquids. It makes the toothpaste thickness, strip shape and good frame and not be runny, soft and thin on the toothbrush, and meanwhile, it keeps brightness and smoothness.
